Jobs that existed 10 years ago don't exist today, jobs that exist today didn't exist 10 years ago, & there will be jobs in the future that haven't been invented yet. That said, technology has brought about this change--unless the BABY BOOMER Generation is willing to change how they look for employment or embrace technology they will be left behind.
We have moved from the Industrial Age to the Knowledge Age so where business is conducted has changed. In the early 20th Century when the Europeans first came to this country they were small businessmen who took their ware & sold them on street corners using pushcarts. Today we have moved back in that direction, only we do business on the Internet through websites(storefronts) on the WWW.--that is why we are now a global economy & what happens in one country affects every economy--which we saw with the collapse of the financial markets.
Are You Prepared to make these changes. I entered the workforce 25 years ago which was still 12 years before ADA became law & found there were few opportunities for me so I had to learn to make my own opportunities in the workplace.
As we move further into the new century everyone who wants to work will have to embrace personal franchising & look for employment through affiliate programs or MLM companies.
